With the economy what it is, you can’t always afford those expensive skin care treatments. But sometimes great skin care solutions are only as far away as your kitchen shelves.
Lemon: Slice some lemon, then rub the lemon over your face and let the juice sit on your face for about a half hour. The rinse with cold water. This helps to refresh the face, but a word of warning: lemon juice can dry out the face some, especially if you have dry skin.
Honey: Add a cup of slightly warmed honey to your bath water. This helps the skin to be soft and smooth. If you are just wanting to wash your face, add a quarter of a cup of warm honey into a bowl or sink of warm water. You can heat the honey on the stove or in a microwave, but be careful, don’t let the honey get too hot because it will burn.
Peanut Oil: Many have found peanut oil to be great for fighting those wrinkles. Apply a little in those troublesome spots, including around the eyes and on the throat. Let sit for 15 minutes, then wipe away.
Apples:For combating oily skin, try this out. Cut an apple into very thin slices. Then rub the slices onto the oily areas. Let sit for a few minutes. Wipe clean. Repeat this every few days if you feel it’s necessary.
Cauliflower juice: This product might be difficult to find, but call around to some of your local specialty grocery stores or health food stores. What does it do? It removes warts. That’s right. Just apply regularly to your warts, and they should be taken care of in a week or maybe less.
Carrot juice: Worried about those blemishes? Worry no longer. Apply some carrot juice at least once a day and you should see those blemishes begin to fade in a week or two, though sometimes it can take longer if it is a dark or deep blemish.
Shallots: Onions in general are good for getting rid of acne. The best way to use the shallots is first to skin and clean them. Then mince the shallots in a blender while mixing in cold water; stop adding the water once a thick paste has been formed. Now use a muslin cloth to squeeze out the shallot’s juice. Save the juice in your refrigerator, at least for a couple of hours before using. Then apply it to your face and leave it on for about ten minutes at least once a day. You should be able to see improvements in at least a couple of weeks.
Cucumber: Cucumbers have lots of water in them, thus they are great for reducing swelling around eyes and for helping with dry skin. Cut a couple of slices of cucumber and lay back with the slices on your eyes for a half hour to help fight those wrinkles and swelling. Or smear the slices on an area of dry skin, let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes, then wipe away.
Eggs: Crack a couple of eggs into a bowl. Mix until the yellows and white are mixed together. Then massage the raw eggs onto your face and let sit for 15 minutes. It sounds like a mess, but it does wonders for fighting aging and tired skin by adding protein.
Olive oil: Olive oil is great for dry skin on your hands, and it’s good for your nails, too. Rub in all those little crevices around the fingers, including in and around the cuticles. Then wipe dry. Especially helpful after you’ve been cooking
over a hot stove, which can dry the hands out.

10 Health Benefits of Honey
Humans might have been collecting honey maybe as long as 10,000 years for its sweet taste, but this natural product of bees also has health benefits.
Sore throats: Yes, honey is good for a sore throat. Honey not only helps to soothe the throat by gently coating it, but it also works as a natural antibiotic, fighting any infections that caused the sore throat. Try gargling slightly warmed honey, perhaps with warm water and some lemon and a pinch of salt.
Cuts and burns: Speaking of honey’s antibiotic abilities, this sweet stuff also makes a nice (though sticky) paste for minor cuts and other wounds. How so? Honey helps to disinfect wounds by naturally, slowly releasing hydrogen peroxide. Remember this is only a home remedy for small wounds and burns; anything serious and you need to see your doctor or go to the hospital.
Hangovers: Have too much to drink last night? To fight those hangovers, try a tablespoon of honey the next day. Honey contains natural sugars which speed up the oxidation process of alcohol in the liver. Works best when slightly warm honey is added to a fruit juice.
Ulcers: Honey has the natural ability to pull water from its surroundings, which means in your stomach it denies fluid to the bacteria there causing ulcers. Thus, honey can help ulcers by killing bacteria.
Losing weight: Believe it or not, honey can help in the battle of the bulge. How is this? Honey, when slightly warm and mixed with water or juice, helps your body in digestion of fat stored in the body. But don’t over do it, because honey does have more calories than sugar.
Energy: Need a little boost in the morning? Or maybe after a jog or long walk? Honey is an excellent source of energy for the body. A tablespoon of honey equals about 64 calories.
Toothache: Ouch! Darn that sore tooth! But it’s honey to the rescue once again. Mix five teaspoons of honey with a teaspoon of powdered cinnamon, then apply it to the sore tooth. The pain should slowly ebb away in about 10 minutes or so.
Acne: Spread a thin layer of honey on your skin to combat pimples and other acne. Honey’s natural antibiotic abilities not only help to keep the skin clean, but it also roots out and destroys many bacteria that can cause facial blemishes.
Sleep: Honey can even help you get a good night sleep because its amino acids, vitamins and minerals act as a natural sedative. Works best if you mix a spoon of honey with warm milk.
Digestion: A little warm honey mixed with apple cider vinegar can help your food digest. If the vinegar tastes or smells too strong to you, cut it with some warm water.

10 Health Benefits of Cinnamon
Always consult your doctor and don’t simply accept medical advice you read online, but know that many natural foods, such as cinnamon, are alleged to have natural health benefits.
Brain function: We all need this one from time to time. And it’s true. A 2004 study showed that those who chewed cinnamon or cinnamon-flavored gum, or even just smelled cinnamon, had stronger cognitive abilities and scored better on tests involving working memory, hand-eye coordination, stress relief and overall brain function.
Inflammation: Cinnamon is naturally anti-inflammatory, so chew on some to help ease any pain and stiffness in muscles and joints. Cinnamon’s anti-inflammatory properties also can help fight head colds and aches and pains caused by colds.
Diabetes: Always check with your doctor about using natural foods for your health, but he or she might suggest cinnamon if you are diabetic and insulin resistant. Some studies show a teaspoon of ground cinnamon taken daily can help with blood sugar levels.
Anti-clotting: One of the natural oils in cinnamon is called cinnamaldeyde and this oil helps to stop blood platelets from clumping together, which can be good for those suffering with heart disease.
High cholesterol: One teaspoon of cinnamon contains 28mg of calcium, and calcium helps to decrease high cholesterol. Which is good for the heart. The calcium urges the body’s liver to create new bile, which naturally forces out the old, high cholesterol, bile.
Yeast infections: Cinnamon has natural anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties, which means it can help in combating yeast infections. This ability also makes cinnamon prime for helping to get rid of lice and ulcers.
Cancer: Various studies, including a report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, suggest use of cinnamon reduces cancer cells in leukemia and lymphoma. More will have to be studied on this particularity, but cinnamon as a cancer fighter is growing more common. Again, consult your doctor.
Common cold: Cinnamon is known to stimulate the respiratory system, which helps to combat the common cold and other flu-like symptoms. Chew on some cinnamon bark or swallow a teaspoon to help get over that cold.
Nausea: Feeling a little sick at the stomach? Drink some cinnamon tea or add a little cinnamon to some warm soup to help ease your tummy.
Insect bites: Make a paste of cinnamon and honey and dab it onto any insect bites to help reduce the pain and itching. It might take a few minutes before the effects kick in, but give it some time.

10 Health Benefits of Ginger
No, were not talking about the red-head from Gilligan’s Island. We’re talking about the ancient root traditionally from China, and all the benefits it brings to the body and mind.
Nausea: Several studies have shown ginger helps to ease the stomach of nausea, calming the stomach muscles and helping to prevent retching and even diarrhea. This is useful for those who are undergoing chemotherapy, and those who suffer from seasickness or are dealing with morning sickness.
Ovarian cancer: A study performed at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2006 suggests ginger powder helps to kill ovarian cancer cells. The powder was applied directly to cancerous cells, so it is not known yet if ingestion of straight ginger or the powder form will have the same effect.
Migraines:A half teaspoon of ginger powder taken when you feel a headache coming could help ease the pain of a migraine. Prostaglandins, fatty acid compounds, inflame the blood vessels in the brain, which cause migraine pain. Studies in Denmark suggest ginger blocks the effects of these prostaglandins.
Menstrual cramps:Those prostaglandins also make the body aware of menstrual cramps and pains. Since ginger has been show to block the effects of prostaglandins, ginger can also help block menstrual cramps and pains.
Arthritis:Multiple studies, some at the University of Miami and others at the Department of Rheumatology in Tel Aviv, have shown that arthritis sufferers who are given ginger have serious decreases in joint aches and pains after taking ginger for up to six months. This reduction in pain has been most notable in the knees when the subjects were walking.
Blood clots: Ginger acts much like aspirin when injected. In other words, it helps to break up blockages within blood vessels, which could lead to stroke or heart attack.
Cholesterol: Speaking of the heart, lower cholesterol is generally good for the heart. And guess what ginger is good at? You guessed it. Ginger helps the body to lower levels of bad cholesterol.
Athlete’s foot:Ginger has natural anti-fungal properties, which means it’s good at combating athlete’s foot, which is a fungal condition. Place some ginger powder in slightly warm water, then insert your feet into the mix. Within minutes the itching and redness caused by athlete’s foot should lessen.
Minor burns: Always see a doctor about any serious illnesses or injuries, but if you suffer from a minor burn or skin irritation, try rubbing on a little ginger juice or oil. The pain should ease off in a few minutes.
Colds and flu symptoms: Raw ginger works just as well, but the easiest way to help with colds and flu is by drinking a little ginger tea. The ginger helps to ease sore throats and also loosens up congestion in the lungs, as well as easing the general aches and pains of a cold or flu.

Benefits Of Jogging
If you want to maintain a fit body then jogging is an ideal exercise for you. It helps you maintain good health as well as body. When you jog it offers mental as well as physical enjoyment.
If you want to maintain a fit body then jogging is an ideal exercise for you. It helps you maintain good health as well as body. When you jog it offers mental as well as physical enjoyment.
Jogging routines
You can do jogging in several ways including:
1.Jogging 6 to 20 km or long distance in a modest speed on level ground.
2.Jogging at a high speed for 3 to 6 kilometers.
3.You can jog on steep ground for 3 to 4 km, at the speed according to the incline.
4.Jog on a hilly area where paths go up as well as down for 4 to 8 kilometers
The best thing is to keep changing the kind of jogging you do at regular intervals as you will enjoy it better as well as exercise different parts of the body.
Ways to manage jogging sessions
When you start you should move effortlessly for the initial hundred meters or so in order to warm up the muscles. You can slowly increase the speed as well as the muscular movements. Once you have reached halfway take a fast burst which is within your capacity. In case it is a long way you can take more than one spurt with your full energy. Once you are reaching your destination you should start slowing down.
To begin jogging
For individuals who are not used to much of physical exercise, it is suggested to talk to a doctor prior to stating any jogging routine. It is possible that you have health conditions which do not allow jogging or you have to take some precautions while jogging. It is best to jog for just ten minutes initially on level ground. Once you are used to this form of exercise you can slowly augment the speed, time and distance. If you like you can also jog on more inclined and tough terrain.
Stretching the body previous to and after jogging
It is suggested by experts that one should stretch the body before as well as after every session of jogging. This is not only important for your leg muscles but also for the whole body. You must do it two minutes prior to starting and about four minutes once you have completed. You can do the movements listed below when you stretch.
1.Touch the toes by bending forward.
2.Go down on your one foot, while stretching the other one backwards.
3.Bend the body on both sides.
4.Stretch one arm, hold anything and twist the body around to ensure that the arm is bent towards the back.
5.Push your stomach forward, to shape the spinal cord like a bow.
6.Put your hands at the rear of the neck and stretch the arms behind. Turn the body towards right and left, bending on both sides.
It is best to hang around for a few minutes after jogging ahead of you stretching.

Calories for Fat Loss
Science tells us that 1 pound of fat is equal to 3500 calories, so a daily calorie deficit of 500 should result in 1 pound per week fat loss. In reality things don't quite work that efficiently!
Warning!
Always try to aim for the "Fat Loss" daily calorie level. The quot;Extreme Fat Loss" level is effectively a rock bottom calorie level. Do not attempt to immediately drop your calories to this level hoping for the quick fix - this may ultimately backfire. The Extreme Fat Loss level is listed to show the lowest calorie amount that could be considered. It should be seen as the exception rather than the rule.
It truly is better to burn the fat than to starve it.
The Weight Loss Plateau
Over time our bodies adapt to the lowered calorie level. Our body becomes more efficient at using energy (lowered metabolism), and therefore burns less fat.
This is why most of us reach a weight loss plateau. At this point, the only option is to boost metabolism; increased cardio, weight training, 'cheat' meals (i.e. ocassional high-calorie meals), cycling (or zig-zagging) calories, and even manipulating macro-nutrient ratios can all help to do this (don't forget adequate sleep and hydration). You often find that the nearer you get to your goal weight (or body fat percentage) - the harder things get!
Continually dropping calories only serves to lower metabolism even further - the moment you return to 'normal' eating - the weight comes back on.
Minimum Daily Calorie intake:
It is difficult to set absolute bottom calorie levels, because everyone has different body composition and activity levels. Health authorities do set some baselines - these are 1200 calories per day for women, and 1800 calories per day for men. This doesn't really make too much sense - are you are sedentary person with little muscle mass? Or someone who is tall, muscular, and exercises a lot? Absolute levels don't work - but do give us a starting point.
When reducing calories:
Try not to lower your calorie intake by more than 1000 calories below maintenance. Doing so may invoke the bodies starvation response.A sudden drop (such as 500 calories or more) can cause your metabolism to slow.
What happens when calories are too low?
Muscle mass is broken down for energy (catabolism).
Metabolic rate will begin to drop (typically) after 3 days of very low calories - this is related to, and compounded by the loss of muscle mass.
With very low calories you risk sluggishness, nutritional deficiencies, fatigue, and often irritability. You are completely set-up for a regain in fat if you suddenly return to your previous eating patterns.
Lose Fat And Build Muscle?
Depending on your body type, it can be a very difficult balance trying to eat to burn fat, but retain or even build muscle for valuable insight on how to balance this. But realize that there is no single answer for everyone. It is a process of trial and error - but you need a starting point

Vegetarian Diets
Some people follow a "vegetarian" diet, but there's no single vegetarian eating pattern. The vegan or total vegetarian diet includes only foods from plants: fruits, vegetables, legumes (dried beans and peas),
Any type of vegetarian diet should include a wide variety of foods and enough calories to meet your energy needs.
Keep your intake of sweets and fatty foods to a minimum. These foods are low in nutrients and high in calories.
Choose whole or unrefined grain products when possible, or use fortified or enriched cereal products.
Use a variety of fruits and vegetables, including foods that are good sources of vitamins A and C.
If you use milk or dairy products, choose fat-free/nonfat and low-fat varieties.
Eggs are high in cholesterol (213 mg per yolk), so monitor your use of them. Limit your cholesterol intake to no more than 300 mg per day.
grains, seeds and nuts. The lactovegetarian diet includes plant foods plus cheese and other dairy products. The ovo-lactovegetarian (or lacto-ovovegetarian) diet also includes eggs. Semi-vegetarians don't eat red meat but include chicken and fish with plant foods, dairy products and eggs.
Are vegetarian diets healthful
Most vegetarian diets are low in or devoid of animal products. They’re also usually lower than nonvegetarian diets in total fat, saturated fat and cholesterol. Many studies have shown that vegetarians seem to have a lower risk of obesity, coronary heart disease (which causes heart attack), high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus and some forms of cancer.
Vegetarian diets can be healthful and nutritionally sound if they’re carefully planned to include essential nutrients. However, a vegetarian diet can be unhealthy if it contains too many calories and/or saturated fat and not enough important nutrients.
What are the nutrients to consider in a vegetarian diet
Protein: You don't need to eat foods from animals to have enough protein in your diet. Plant proteins alone can provide enough of the essential and non-essential amino acids, as long as sources of dietary protein are varied and caloric intake is high enough to meet energy needs.
Whole grains, legumes, vegetables, seeds and nuts all contain both essential and non-essential amino acids. You don't need to consciously combine these foods ("complementary proteins") within a given meal.
Soy protein has been shown to be equal to proteins of animal origin. It can be your sole protein source if you choose.
Iron: Vegetarians may have a greater risk of iron deficiency than nonvegetarians. The richest sources of iron are red meat, liver and egg yolk -- all high in cholesterol. However, dried beans, spinach, enriched products, brewer's yeast and dried fruits are all good plant sources of iron.
Vitamin B-12: This comes naturally only from animal sources. Vegans need a reliable source of vitamin B-12. It can be found in some fortified (not enriched) breakfast cereals, fortified soy beverages, some brands of nutritional (brewer's) yeast and other foods.
Vitamin D: Vegans should have a reliable source of vitamin D. Vegans who don’t get much sunlight may need a supplement.
Calcium: Studies show that vegetarians absorb and retain more calcium from foods than nonvegetarians do. Vegetable greens such as spinach, kale and broccoli, and some legumes and soybean products, are good sources of calcium from plants.
Zinc: Zinc is needed for growth and development. Good plant sources include grains, nuts and legumes. Shellfish are an excellent source of zinc. Take care to select supplements containing no more than 15-18 mg zinc. Supplements containing 50 mg or more may lower HDL ("good") cholesterol in some people.

Do you know easy ways to lose weight?
There is no easy way to lose weight. Now in my thirties, I have learned a very valuable lesson about weight loss and health. There just is not an easy way to lose weight, period. Mind you, there are fad diets that may help you to lose weight quickly. However, the weight always comes back once you finish the diet.
I have tried everything. Atkins, Detox diets, cabbage soup, starvation, the diabetic diet, and so on. These diets and every other diet have one thing in common, once you stop them, the weight comes back.
My way is an old fashioned, it is hard work.
Here is my advice:
1. I religiously read magazines such as Fitness, Shape and Prevention. These magazines offer tips, recipes and a variety of workouts to ensure that you do not become bored with your routines and continue to challenge your body to work harder.
2. Portion sizes are often smaller than half of the portions we are piling on our plates or being served in restaurants. I have found it helpful to keep a food diary. This way I am not depriving myself of anything on any given day. I had a burger and a small order of pouting yesterday. I simply tailored my eating for the rest of the day to make up for the extra calories and fat. There are free calorie counters available on the Internet. This is a quick and easy way to track what you are putting into your body.
3. Our body is machines, they need to work. Muscles work like this: move it or lose it. Muscle loss slows your metabolic rate (the rate at which we burn calories). Less muscle means fatter and fatter means less energy. I do 45 minutes of cardio 3-4 times a week and weight training twice a week.
4. Losing weight is hard work. You must never give up. There is no excuse for not taking care of you. You are not only doing yourself a disservice by not being healthy and active, you are also letting your friends and family down by shortening your life expectancy and the quality of your life. Once you stop making excuses not to work out, you will soon find that you're feeling so much better about life and yourself that you will be finding excuses working out.

Anti-Aging Treatment - Cosmetics and Cosmetic Surgery
The most popular and quickest anti aging treatment so far is the application of cosmetics and cosmetic surgery.
The purpose of cosmetic surgery is to repair congenital defects and damage to the body. Due to accidents it has also gained great popularity repairing the results caused by aging. The popularity of this anti-aging treatment has resulted to very high standards of specialization. Medical practitioners in this field achieves a very high degree of requirement in training and must pass several tests and years of study before being eligible to be sponsored by a cosmetic surgeon who himself has had several years of formal cosmetic surgery practice. Only then could the recent practitioner be accepted into the American board of Cosmetic Surgeon.
Aside from reconstructive surgeries that are done usually on deformities, another result that cosmetic surgery achieves is the restoration of the youthful appearance of the body. Stretch marks, birthmarks, scars, skin toning and rejuvenation, are done through the use of either invasive or non invasive procedures.
This modern mode of anti-aging treatments basically involves the following steps:
The pre-operative interview where the best approach to the treatment are discussed, procedures are laid out, results and expectations are talked on and possibly some other issues whenever there are. Marking will also be done where the approach of the surgery will take place.
The surgery or the treatment which usually takes a couple of hours depending on the complexity of the procedure that is opted. Many cosmetic surgery procedures though could be done quickly inside an hour.
The recovery, again depending on the complexity and the age of the patient, recovery will vary from overnight to a couple of weeks and sometimes longer than that. Many procedures will enable the patient to get back to normal activities almost right after a moment of rest.
The follow up treatment is only done when there are a series of procedures that are planned or when the completion of treatment requires intervals of schedules.
The recent technological advances in this anti-aging treatment are such that many procedures that previously require invasive techniques are now replaced with treatments that will require no incisions. One greatest factor that this anti-aging treatment has become so popular is that aside from being generally safe, cosmetic surgery requires very little effort, demands very little from the body and delivers very fast and desirable results that are often long lasting.
Examples of the most popular anti-aging procedures are:
Skin treatments - Skin treatments are usually non invasive procedures that use laser treatments to stretch out the skin and to remove wrinkles. Skins that are badly damaged due to accidents and aging are restored to its attractive and youthful look.
Face Lift – Achieves a younger modern looking face and reshapes it also to create a more balanced look.
Blepharoplasty – Is done to eliminate the puffiness and the sagging around the eyes to arrive a rested, fresh and younger looking face.
Dermabrasion is an anti-aging treatment that eliminates skin damage, blotches and wrinkles through laser surgery and the use of chemical peels.
Microdermabrasion, on the other hand, is the anti-aging treatment that requires lighter chemical peels. These are non invasive procedures and require no recovery time.
The list of anti-aging treatment trough cosmetic surgery is still growing due to specialization. No matter, these procedures remain to be one of the most reliable anti aging treatments that are commonly resorted today.

How to Cure Acne without Spending Tons of Money on Drugs
The exact cause of acne is mostly unknown. Sometimes when acne in women is due to excess male hormone production, it is diagnosed by an onset of the condition in adulthood; excessive growth of hair, especially in places not usual on a female, called hirsuitism; irregular menstrual cycles; and premenstrual flare-ups of acne. Acne is a red, irritating skin rash primarily affecting teenagers and young adults. It can, however, occur at all ages. Typical acne appears in the oil-producing areas of the body-namely, the face, chest, and back. Acne can also occur on the neck and upper arms.
Acne is not a result of uncleanliness or infrequent washing. In other words, acne does not result from too much dirt on the skin or in the pores. Bacteria that normally live on the skin also play a role in acne development. The bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes are responsible for causing acne.
These bacteria produce substances that cause redness and irritation (inflammation).Certain hormones called androgens are an additional factor in causing acne. Estrogens, which are the female hormones, actually can help to improve acne in girls.
A woman's monthly menstrual cycle is due to changes in the estrogen levels in her body.Noninflammatory acne is Open comedones result from the enlargement and dilation of a plug that forms from oil and flakes of skin inside the hair follicle. Inflammatory acne lesions consist of red blemishes, pimples also called zits (papules, pustules), and larger, deeper swollen tender lesions (nodules).
If you suffer from acne, it can be controlled and sooner or later cured without spending tons of money on drugs. Acne is very easy to control and with drugless, all natural methods at that. You simply need to be shown how.

How to clean your face from acne
Hi there, I just wanted to share this trick to the world cause it worked so well for me in cleaning up my face that I think you should also try it if you are tired of working with chemicals to clean your skin.
Here is what you do, at night clean your face with a normal soap for about 1 minute until you know you clean everything. Next dry your face as if you had never washed it. Now using a paper towel or bathroom paper, apply some baby powder to the paper. Spread the baby powder all over your face but of course avoiding areas like under your nose, eyes and mouth.
Change your pillow covers once a week. Do this almost every night until your face is cleaned. Stop doing this procedure if your face way to dry. There might be days when maybe you cleaned your face to much and you might feel on the next day your face dry. Its normal just wash your face with a good cream soap. By 2 or 3 weeks your face should look 10 times better! Good luck.
